How casting works

Choose the song you want to sing

  • If you want a solo, audition with the Hunchback song containing the solo you most want.
  • If you do not want a solo, you may audition with any song.
  • Solos belonging to a specific role may be split among multiple soloists.
  • Anyone may audition for any solo, regardless of gender or voice type.
  • Hunchback songs must be sung in their original key.
  • You may ask to be considered for multiple solos; sing the one you want most.
  • All soloists are also expected to sing in the choir.

Video auditions

Submit online

  • Video is preferred to an in-person audition.
  • Sing with a backing track.
  • Maximum length: five minutes.
  • Maximum file size: 500 MB.

In-person auditions

August 10–11

6–9 p.m. in ten-minute slots.

Prepare to sing a cappella or with a backing track. We can provide the backing track.

Commitment

Rehearsals & performances

Rehearsals: Sundays beginning September 13, tentatively 2–5 p.m.

Performances: November 5–8 at St. Luke’s Anglican Church. Thursday–Saturday at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday–Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

We begin contacting auditioners August 20 and will contact everyone by August 24.
